A shooting in Lakeland, Florida, has prompted local officials to reopen public parks, including the lakefront.
The shooting happened just after 5pm local time on Sunday (20:00 GMT) on the grasslands of the Piedmont Parklands.
The man who shot and killed himself is still at large and police said they were still looking for other suspects.
Witnesses described the gunman as a white man, around 40, wearing a black hoodie and carrying a rifle.
The incident has led to renewed calls for tighter gun control measures in the US.
